MASCO Shuttles Update 6-15-20 posted Thursday, June 11, 2020

Modified service due to Service change
Begins: 2020-06-11 11:46:00 (EDT)
Ends: 2020-07-31 12:46:00 (EDT)

Effective June 15th, we are implementing the first step in our ridership ramp-up process. For the most part, the MASCO shuttles will continue to operate the same as they have, but there will be several key differences and changes, both on June 15th, and other dates in the near future. Beginning June 15th, the Chestnut Hill Shuttle will resume operations. The schedule will remain the same, though we will be monitoring ridership distributions to see if modifications are needed with changing work schedules. MASCO will also be deploying a larger vehicle to operate critical higher capacity trips to help maintain social distancing. Social distancing measures, including signage, are being expanded and clarified on the shuttles. Laminated signs will be installed on all seats not to be occupied, noting capacity is 25 passengers. We are also installing floor markings on all shuttles to recommend where the limited standing room passengers should stand if there are any at all. The current expanded cleaning and disinfecting programs will continue. In addition to this, we have begun installing hand sanitizer stations in each New Flyer vehicle. Additionally, drivers will be opening windows and roof hatches to help increase airflow and ventilation in the vehicles, weather permitting. Expanded Supervisor and Transit Ambassadors are being deployed to crucial boarding locations to assist drivers and passengers during this time. They will monitor passenger levels, assist with mask compliance, and help the drivers determine when they have reached their capacity. Please look for them at high capacity boarding locations. Rear door boarding will continue for the next several weeks. Driver shield systems are being installed and should be in place by the middle of July. Once completed, MASCO will immediately resume front door boarding with ID checks. The M2 service continues to operate once every 30 minutes throughout the day. As always, during the Summer, the M2 does not operate on Saturdays and ends at 11:30 PM instead of 12:30 AM. Thank you all, and if there is anything we can help you with, feel free to reach out to us at https://shuttlesupport.masco.harvard.edu/
